CSIR International Convention Centre, Pretoria
The South African Statistical Association (SASA), South Africa's Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) are proud to host the 53rd annual conference of SASA from 31 October to 4 November 2011 at the CSIR ICC in Pretoria. Our aim is to bring together statisticians and other quantitative researchers from around the country and abroad to Pretoria - known as the 'Jacaranda City', to share their research, discuss emerging ideas and challenges in their fields, and to network. We have also invited a number of distinguished international statisticians to benefit participants, and have organised a variety of workshops.
The logo (top left of website) marks the host city and the period of the conference when the Jacaranda tree is in full bloom. It depicts the Union Building overlayed on a single Jacaranda flower.
The 'Accommodation' page has additional links to travel and tourism information. We welcome suggestions and comments; feel free to send these to Sonali Das at
We thank all guests, delegates and sponsors for making the conference a success. We will see you in Port Elizabeth in 2012.
