FIRST AND FINAL CALL FOR PEER-REVIEWED PAPERS:

52nd  ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF SASA

10-12 November 2010, North West University (NWU), Potchefstroom

 

 

SASA has received requests from various members to introduce peer-reviewed articles at the annual SASA conference to facilitate funding from their institute and to encourage up and coming researchers and practitioners. Hence SASA will be publishing peer-reviewed papers presented at its 52nd annual conference in proceedings which will have an ISBN number.

 

Presenters who would like to submit contributions for review and inclusion in the proceedings should first submit extended abstracts before 17 May 2010. Details can be found here. The extended abstract should be emailed to sasaconf@gmail.com before the closing date. Following the successful review of the extended abstracts authors will be required to submit full papers for publication by 31 August 2010. Details can be found here. The full paper should be emailed to sasaconf@gmail.com before the closing date.

 

A call for short abstracts of contributions, which will be neither peer-reviewed nor included in the proceedings, will be published in the June newsletter.

 

Submission of extended abstracts for the conference is now open and should be sent directly to Dr Pravesh Debba (email PDebba@csir.co.za; tel +27 (0)12 841 3421). The closing date for submission of extended abstract is 17 May 2010. Late submissions will not be considered.

Conference themes:

Submission may cover all areas of theoretical and/or applied statistics.

 

Instructions to authors:

 

The extended abstract must communicate succinctly yet sufficiently the research conducted so that it provides enough information to decide whether or not it is suitable for inclusion in the conference proceedings. The extended abstract should include:

§ The problem statement;

§ The research methodology;

§ The results, findings or case studies, where applicable;

§ The main conclusions and recommendations; and

§ Relevant references.

 

The extended abstract should be two pages long, approximately 800-1 000 words. Once accepted, you are allowed a total of 8 A4 pages for your full paper. This is the maximum number of pages that will be accepted, including all figures, tables, and references. Full papers exceeding the 8 page limit will be rejected.
