January 11-15, 2010 Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Cambridge, UK This is the inaugural workshop of the programme on Stochastic Processes in Communication Sciences. It brings together several leading experts studying problems in the modern communication sciences using stochastic techniques. The interplay between these fields has been enormously fruitful over the last couple of decades, with stochastic techniques making an impact on the development of communication systems and problems in communications leading to new developments in the theory of stochastic processes. The aim of the workshop is to survey these developments and to map out possible pathways for the synergistic evolution of these fields in the future. January 12-15, 2010 Santiago, Chile The X Chilean Biometric Conference, the IV Chilean Dental-Statistical Meeting, the II Chilean Bayesian Workshop and the I Chilean Medical-Statistical Meeting will be held on these dates. University of Florida Twelfth Annual Winter Workshop: Categorical Data Analysis January 15-16, 2010 Gainesville, Florida The workshop will focus on recent developments in methodology for categorical data analysis, such as analyzing high-dimensional data, Bayesian inference, dealing with clustering and missing data, and applications to rapidly-developing disciplines such as statistical genetics. March 22-26, 2010 Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Cambridge, UK Stochastic networks is a multifaceted area of research dealing with the stability, control, performance, approximation and design of stochastic models of networks. It gives rise to challenging and subtle mathematical problems, whose solution often requires a combination of ideas and techniques from several branches of mathematics, including probability theory, stochastic processes, analysis, optimization, combinatorics and graph theory. Research in this area is strongly motivated by applications in diverse areas, ranging from the traditional areas of telecommunications and manufacturing to service operations, biological and social networks and revenue management. The aim of this workshop is to bring together experts in this area to survey recent developments and identify future research directions.
